About the workshop

Mandalas are fun, inspirational, absorbing and sacred! All at the same time…..

Our world is rich with mandalas. You are a mandala. You were created from the one that is all, from a point of no-thing and then you flowered, cell by cell, into the beautiful mandala that you are today. Your life is a mandala, unfolding each year in a perfect cycle. Life unfolding is a mandala. Each cell is a mandala.

Mandalas are geometric patterns that reflect much of nature. Traditionally used in the East as a tool for meditation, mandalas are fun and easy to create. Mandalas are varied and rich – there are no set rules here.

How the day will work

I will show you how to mark up your page, give ideas on different ways that you can create your mandala.

The day will be comprised of actually creating your mandala, interspersed with short presentations on the history of mandalas, about how they are expressed through the natural world from the tiniest cells to the solar systems in space, about how connected to mathematics they are – and about how they can be used as a tool for transformation and personal growth.

Come and create a beautiful mandala together!

Warning: you might just find a new addiction…..

Rebecca Hunter

Since I was a small girl, I have been drawing little doodles in the margin of my work. In recent adulthood I realised that these little doodles were all the symbols found in mandalas!

I've discovered an absorbing interest that is taking me on an exploration through culture, nature and geometry.
